Dancing Mazunte

About Dance and Mazunte, and once again we reach into the EGG - OvO - HuevO

Before coming back to this "Magic Village" I searched for the meaning of Mazunte and I found out that it means literally: "please, put your eggs", because many turtles come here every year to put their eggs in the shore.

Then, my dance students told me Mazunte is also an specific crab.

It was intense this 4 months journey in Mazunte. Apparently a beautiful place, paradisiac, incredible nature, but so strong energetically that can push you completely to the other side. As my dear friend Rafa Ocho described México: "the paradise with those holes that take you directly to hell."

So, again the ideas of ATTRACTION & REPULSION strongly came.

CONTRACTION & EXPANSION, and in between trying to find BALANCE.

Thanks Contact Improvisation, the embodied philosophy of life. This never ending fascinating world that keeps us on learning about life and dance, about ourselves, and the way we relate to each other...

During December and January I was sharing some dance sessions at my favorite dance studio: Mitotecali. The view, the floor, the breeze, the love behind this construction and the dances that arise there, are a gift for the soul.

It was so amazingly surprising the amount of people attended to these classes, so enthusiastic, curious and devoted. So we had the chance to really follow a process of training and creation, that unfortunately, because sickness appeared in the worst moment, it couldn't culminate in the performance we were working on!! BUT, this is a beginning and this process continues and we will get to make it happen. SHOW MUST GO ON!!

At this period of time I was inmerse in the first stage of the project 'Awakening_iS to Believe To Create' (Despertar_es Creer para Crear), so living inside the labyrinth, the duality, fight of ... and I brought this theme to the classes, so we were working with emotions we wanted to transform to create our characters.

It can look so personal in the beginning but then we realize even a personal feeling, sensation or emotion becomes collective, because we are part of the collective, and we are not alone in this world. We are all connected and we suffer same topics. . .
